Sometimes people can be so awful, even people one thinks one is very fond of. Sometimes I feel like an awful person, because I know how hurtful and insensitive I can be when I'm not thinking about it. I would like to believe I'm only an asshole because people are being hurtful to me, but I know that isn't true. Without thinking about it, I rely on what I am most familiar with; that is, criticizing others. I'm trying hard to change, because I know I have within me the potential to be loving, and genuinely caring. I just fear that, because of a lack of mindfulness, I have done so much to hurt people, and, while I set about directing my life toward alleviating the suffering of others, I have become increasingly aware of my own hypocrisy. Though this is hardly the correct forum for an apology, I would like to say that if I have at any point done or said anything to make anyone reading this feel like anything less than absolutely wonderful, I am deeply sorry. Humans, all of us, are amazing creatures because we are capable of so much good and love, and no one should EVER make you feel less wonderful than you are; they are amazing too, but they do not deserve or need that power.
